This article proposed that “dampness causes damage to bones”, and believed that dampness is the key pathological factor in the progression of multiple myeloma. The basic pathogenesis was dampness causing damaging to essence and blood and then to bones, which was closely related to heart and spleen. Therefore, the treatment method “dissipating dampness and eliminating toxic material, treating heart and spleen” was established. The medicine of insects, snakes , vines , etc. should be used flexibly, with some efficacy in clinic, which could contribute to enrich and expand the theoretical system of TCM for multiple myeloma.
